Calella, certified in FAMILY TOURISM, SPORTS TOURISM and CYCLING TOURISM, which hosts a large number of sporting and cultural events, and somewhere to enjoy the nice beach and shopping at the  mall in the center of town.


Calella has been designated European City of Sport 2016
Calella receives this recognition for being a good example of how the sport is a tool for health, social cohesion, education and respect, values promoted by the association ACES.

Different types of sport can be played in Calella: Triathlon training at athletics tracks, the Olympic-sized swimming pool and the municipal swimming pool, as well as on the promenade and nearby main roads. Water sports: parasailing, windsurfing, sailing, kayaking, banana bus, etc. at the WaterSportscentre. We have clubs where you can play other sports, such as the Calella tennis club, the Calella swimming club, the Calella athletics club, the Calella beach volleyball club, the Calella table tennis club. There are annual championships in beach handball and beach tennis. Very close to Calella, in the village of Sant Cebrià, there is a Pitch & Putt facility at the Sant Cebrià Golf Centre.

The Calella-Calella International Cyclist March is the most attractive and demanding cycling event in Catalonia with its 140 kilometers and more than 3,000 meters of unevenness in its long version and the not inconsiderable 84 kilometers in its short version with more than 1,400 meters of unevenness They attest.
Short Tour 84 km
Designed for athletes who want to enjoy the scenery, to make the march in the company of their own, the march travels beautiful landscapes of the Catalan coast and the Sierra del Montseny with an altimetry of 1,493m of accumulated positive gradient.
A long distance of 140 km
The organization has designed this route for the most daring. The hardness of the route and its unevenness make it one of the most demanding marches in the Catalan cycle calendar. The march runs through the Montseny mountain range between the capital of Catalonia and the Pyrenees, with an altimetry of 3,000m positive gradient.

WaterSportsCentre offers the opportunity to learn to sail a catamaran, do windsurfing, sailing or kayaking or to enjoy the Mediterranean Sea in other ways, by ski-ing on it, parasailing on it, travelling by speed boat or on all sorts of inflatable vessels, such as the FlyFish, the Slider or the Banana-Bus.


Calella is a perfect town where road cycling because of the possibility of different routes through the area in addition to the population of that trade is aimed at cyclists.
There are cycling routes leading to the Maresme, to Barcelona, to the plains of the Empordà, Girona or around the mountains of Montseny, in addition to the possibility of cycling along the beach.

8 cycling routes of different distances, slopes and degrees of difficulty ranging from 51 to 151 km have Calella as a starting and ending point.

These cycling routes fall within the Council's desire to promote quality tourism, sports and family and are classified and accessible to the user, depending on the difficulty, level and kilometers of route. Examples of some routes are: Calella-Canet, Calella-Tordera, Calella-Tossa de Mar or Mountain routes such as Calella-Santa Fe del Montseny or Calella-Turó de l'Home (1.712 m ASL)
