Tossa de Mar

Tossa de Mar lies in a valley, separated from the neighbouring villages by the Massís de Cadiretes - l´Ardenya peaks. The road north leads to Sant Feliu de Guíxols and the same road heading south goes to Lloret de Mar.

Beaches

The town, the beaches, the surrounding area and events

The Costa Brava has numerous beaches and coves of great beauty. Within the Tossa’s town limits, going along the coastline from south to north, the beaches stretch from the Punta des Calafats, the border with Lloret de Mar, to Es Codolar.
Already within Tossa we can find the first places to enjoy the sun, the water and the landscape. The town itself has two large beaches: Sa Platja Gran (including Es Racó) and Sa Palma (with Sa Banyera de Ses Dones). Es Racó, at the foot of the town wall of Tossa, conserves its historic feel; here, the few remaining traditional fishermen still leave their boats in the sand.
Sa Platja, the main beach, is a tourist destination par excellence; bars and facilities nearby, lots of sand and lots of sun.
Between Tossa and Sant Feliu de Guíxols lies a stretch of coastline that is more suitable for those wanting to enjoy the landscape or seeking tranquillity. The GI-682 road is especially worth mentioning. It runs between the two towns through a stunning landscape from which to gaze out over this magnificent stretch of coastline.
