Beaches and coves

The variety of beaches and coves of Playa de Aro is one of the main attractions of this Costa Brava town: from wide beaches with a large number of activities and services, to tiny secret coves oozing privacy and calm.

Cala Pedrosa de Playa de Aro

Cala Pedrosa is a small cove that is 20 metres long and 15 wide. It is located at the southern end of the municipality, within the S'Agaró estate. It is an unspoilt cove with medium occupancy. There is no parking or services.

Playa Sa Conca de Playa de Aro

Sa Conca Beach is 400 metres long and 40 metres wide and normally the occupancy level is medium. It is a semi-urban beach made up of pebbles and rocks and located to the south of Playa de Aro. This beach has obtained the Q for Quality award, Blue Flag and the Destination Quality Plan Diploma.

Platja Gran de Playa de Aro

Platja Gran (Playa Grande) is Playa de Aro's main beach and the largest: it is 2265 metres long and 50-70 metres wide. It is a beach of coarse sand and golden in colour, with a high degree of occupancy. It has several car parks in the town centre and a car parks at the southern end of the beach. It also has all kinds of services, such as access for the disabled, roll-in showers, marine platform, hammock rental, accessible washbasins and jet ski hire This beach has been given the Q for Quality award, Blue Flag and the Destination Quality Plan Diploma.

Cala Rovira de Playa de Aro

Cala Rovira is a semi-urban beach with golden sand and high occupancy. It is 218 x 35 metres. This beach is located in the area of the old natural harbour of Playa de Aro and has access for the disabled as well as basic services. There is no parking available, but Hotel GHT Xaloc is just a few metres away. This beach has been awarded the Blue Flag and the Destination Quality Plan Diploma.

Cala de sa Cova de Playa de Aro

Cala de sa Cova is a small sandy cove 56 metres long by 15 metres wide, located under a cliff with much vegetation typical of this area of the Mediterranean, such as pines and cacti. Small boats rest on the beach.

Cala del Pi de Playa de Aro

Cala del Pi is a small semi-secluded cove in the Playa de Aro area, with unbeatable views and crystal-clear waters for scuba diving. This cove measures 65 by 15 metres and has an average occupancy level. To park, you must leave the car on the road to Calonge.

Cala dels Canyers de Playa de Aro

Cala dels Canyers is a nudist beach measuring 40 by 5 metres. It is a sandy and rocky cove, with a low level of occupancy. To park, you must leave the car on the road to Calonge.

Cala Belladona de Playa de Aro

Cala Belladona is a secluded beach with golden sand and abundant vegetation, measuring 40 metres long by 20 metres wide. This cove receives many visitors but lacks services. The Belladona Beach near Playa de Aro is also known as Cala Cuartel. To park, you must leave the car on the road to Calonge.
