A trip to Girona means visiting essential places of great cultural interest such as the Jewish Quarter, Santa María Cathedral, Sant Pere de Galligants or the Arabic Baths. Walking through the narrow alleys of the old town, you will feel as if you have travelled back to medieval times. You will discover hidden corners, charming shops and delicate cafes and restaurants where you can rest and enjoy a delicious meal.
Castell d'Aro, a village with remains from the medieval period
Castell d'Aro was built around the medieval castle of Benedormiens, officially declared a National Cultural Heritage Site. The current appearance of the Castle is the result of several restorations over time that have altered its original appearance. Although many of the houses in Castell d'Aro have been restored, the town still has many stone facades as well as some doors and corners that recall the medieval era.
