Figueres, capital of the Empordà region
The city of Figueres is approximately 1 hour from S'Agaró. Figueres is in the centre of the Empordà area and is on the border between the Pyrenees and the Costa Brava. Its privileged location makes it an obligatory stop for travellers and tourists entering and leaving the Spanish State. This city is known worldwide for the famous Dalí Theatre-Museum, dedicated exclusively to the surrealist painter Salvador Dalí, who was born in this town.

Besalú, an inland medieval town
The town of Besalú is approximately 1 hour from S'Agaró. Besalú is a small, charming town in the La Garrotxa area. Its geographical location was ideal for human settlements in remote times and it has been a meeting place for different cultures, all of which have enriched the town’s architectural personality. Today, the town’s old quarter is perfectly preserved, its fascinating architecture typical of medieval times and Jewish culture. It is a pleasure to walk through its streets and medieval squares and discover the town’s diverse heritage that make it so unique, such as the mikveh, or Jewish ritual bath, one of the few in such a good state of preservation in the Iberian Peninsula.
